TANABATA FESTIVAL (LITTLE TOKYO) | RISING FUN ART SHOW

TANABATA FESTIVAL | 100 N. CENTRAL AVE 90012 | AUG 13  11A-9P | AUG 14TH 11A-5P

The LITTLE TOKYO | RISING FUN ART SHOW featuring Pop-Artist and Anime-Animator, smilin' Sean Danconia

The show will be hosted at the 6th Annual Los Angeles TANABATA ( Star) FESTIVAL sponsored by the Aratani Foundation, the Nisei Week Foundation, the Little Tokyo Public Safety Association, and the Nanka Kenjinkai Kyogikai.

Danconia will be on hand to greet fans, showcase and sell original art, limited editions, apparel and present his unique take on Japanese culture and Little Tokyo local flavor.

This years show features Danconia's newest creation -- LITTLE MISS TOKIO (aka Kozakura) -- featured in a special signed / numbered print exclusively available at the festival and Blooming Art Gallery in Little Tokyo Village Plaza.

The print also showcases characters from Danconia's SupaPop Studios, with art based on several animated shows currently in development with Manga Entertainment (Ghost in the Shell, Attack on Titan), Rollman Entertainment and CraneKahn -- the original team behind PokeMon's release in the USA.

What is the Tanabata Festival? The festival celebrates the once-a-year meeting of star lovers, the Ox Herder and the Weaver Princess, who are separated by the Milky Way during the other 364 days of the year. Although held in several cities throughout Japan, the largest Tanabata Festival has been held in Sendai City in Miyagi Prefecture since 1946, although it was celebrated in a much smaller scale since the 1600s.

Hope you can join us -- there will be booths selling Japanese food, sake with music, arts + crafts, Kazari and much more with the Nisei Week parade held on Sunday the 14th!
